Dr. Domna Maria Michailidou is a Greek politician and economist, currently serving as Minister of Social Cohesion and Family since March 2025. She was born in Piraeus and holds an MPhil and PhD in Financial and Development Economics from the University of Cambridge.
She has worked as a lecturer at Cambridge and UCL, and as a consultant for international organizations such as the UN, OECD, and British Council in countries including Brazil, Iran, and Uganda.
She returned to Greece in 2016 and joined the OECD Competition Toolkit team. In 2017, she became reform advisor to Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
In 2019, at age 31, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, focusing on welfare, child protection, and disability inclusion.
Elected MP for Piraeus and the Islands in May 2023, she served as Deputy Minister of Education from June 2023, overseeing primary, secondary, and special education, and implementing anti-bullying policies.
From January to June 2024, she served as Minister of Labour and Social Security.
